Arborist Climber - Crew Leader

We are seeking Experience Arborist Climbers who have a passion for industry.  As an experienced Arborist/ Climber you will be responsible for maintaining, preserving, inspecting, pruning, shaping, clearance and removal of trees / shrubs to ensure they’re in a healthy, safe and attractive condition.

 Details:

• Remove and rig trees. Climb in a safe competent manner.
• Experience with climbing and bucket truck operations
• Fell and bucks with chainsaws safely.
• Properly maintain, prepare, operate all tools and equipment including chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts and more.
• Including but not limited to: installation of bolts and cables - training will be provided to according to work standards and procedures.
• Ability to push, pull and lift heavy weight, working at heights, rigging safety and harness safety principles.
• Be able to handle instructions and do the job accordingly as directed verbally or written.
• Be able to ask questions and learn quickly on the job.
• Ability to operate and run bigger trucks - driving and backing up.
• Motivate individuals to work hard and complete a task as a team
• Expected to be a crew leader, Be an effective communicator and team player.
• Commit to learning and growing with the company’s future needs and aspirations.
• Preferred background in Forestry, Horticulture or Landscaping and with experience in climbing.

Pay:

• Wage $25.00 - $32.00/hour
• **Wage will be negotiated based upon experience**
• Tool Allowances: Will be allocated for Boots and Pants after 3 month probationary period

This is a full-time, seasonal position, urgently hiring

Requirements:

• Candidates MUST have a valid provincial driver’s license with minimum 3 years driving experience on with their license. Must provide or be willing to show a Clean Driver’s Abstract for 3 years.  This is for our commercial insurance requirements to use company vehicles for driving. 
• CSA Approved Chainsaw Steel-toed boots with steel shanks and chainsaw protection, chainsaw pants.
• Must be willing to work 8 - 10 hour days in season Monday to Friday
• Emergency/ storm work after hours and/or weekends may be required but not enforced

Qualifications:

• 2 - 3 plus years experience
• Air Brakes ( not required, training will be provided )
• Experience in the industry; lead climber, crew leader
• ISA is not required, but experience and knowledge is Critical.

Physical Capabilities:

• Physically able to perform strenuous and demanding tasks for the duration of the shift.
• Heavy lifting, drag brush, clean up moving logs and wood around.
• Ability to lift, carry 50 lbs and more

Schedule:

• Monday to Friday, overtime could be offered depending on business needs

Ability to commute/relocate:

• Calgary, AB: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work is a must (required)
• Need to have reliable vehicle to get to Yard; there is no transit option available
