Job Description

EXPERIENCED CLIMBING ARBORIST AND CREW LEAD:

Individual will have extensive experience (3-5 years) as a climbing arborist. They will be able to complete complex pruning and removals efficiently while demonstrating excellent skills in all domains. The individual will be able to supervise and instruct production crews in all phases of professional tree care work. English required. 

DUTIES INCLUDE:

  • Proficiency, speed and safe climbing techniques on trees up to 150 feet
  • Aerial lift truck operations
  • Pruning trees and shrubs, hedging
  • Limb and buck trees on the ground
  • Operate a chipper and other specialized equipment,
    • i.e. stump grinder, skid steer, chainsaws, pole saws/pruners, bucket truck
  • Mitigate hazards and safely work on hazardous trees
  • Choose and load the necessary daily equipment
  • Perform daily inspections of equipment and vehicles
  • Drive vehicles, lift/chipper trucks, or trailers around Chilliwack and in surrounding cities
  • Inspect/maintenance equipment when applicable
  • Able to practice maintenance on all arborist equipment
  • Inspect worksite and identify hazards
  • Positively interact with customers
  • Proven ability to be an effective and motivating Crew Leader

OTHER ATTRIBUTES:

  • Class 5 Drivers License or higher is required
  • Airbrakes Endorsement and driving manual transmission is required

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: $27.00-$32.00 per hour

Benefits: On-site parking, paid time off

Schedule: 8 hour shift, Monday to Friday

Supplemental pay types: Bonus pay, overtime pay
