Climbing Crew/Arborist/Arborist Assistant

Position Description:

The skills and responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:

·         Performs all required ground, climbing, and aerial lift duties in support of specific job                                assignments, as directed by crew leader or designated supervisor

·         Skills to operate chainsaws, chippers and other equipment

·         Properly maintain all tools and equipment

·         Ability to install and inspect structural support systems

·         Experience to safely prune or remove large limbs using advanced rigging techniques

·         Capability to drive a truck with a trailer

·         Responsible for carrying out other duties as assigned by the crew leader or designated                              supervisor,  Arborist representative, or local manager

·         Abide by industry safe work practices

Experience/Qualifications:

·         High School Diploma or equivalent preferred

·         2-3 years’ experience climbing with ropes and harness in the tree care industry

·         Hold a valid “G” license required with a clean Driver’s Abstract

·         Hold or working towards an ISA Certification or Ontario Licensed Arborist

·         Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs.

·         Ability to work safely as part of a team and possess the willingness to learn and progress
