About the role you’ll play
The Junior Consulting Arborist at Maple Hill Tree Services is an integral part of the consulting team. Working alongside our Senior Consulting arborist, you will provide consultation and recommendations to a varied client base. You will perform site audits, tree inventories, arborist reports, and assist with permit applications. The Junior Consulting Arborist also works closely with senior management, our sales arborist, and scheduling supervisor to ensure that organizational processes run effortlessly and efficiently. This full-time position will work out of our Burlington office with some opportunity to work remotely.
What you’ll be doing
- Reading and interpreting site plans.
- Conducting on-site tree inventories and meeting with clients/developers/architects.
- Writing arborist reports in compliance with various municipal by-laws.
- Preparing tree protection plans using AutoCAD.
- Conducting tree risk assessments and writing reports.
- Applying for tree removal permits.
- Provide on-site consults to clients with specific tree care questions and concerns.
Junior Consulting Arborist Requirements
- ISA Certified Arborist
- Arborist/horticulturist with preferably 5 years of experience in arboriculture
- Tree Risk Assessment Qualification (preferred)
- Experience with Adobe and CAD (preferred)
- Applied knowledge and understanding of standard industry practices
- Excellent sales and communication skills and customer service follow-through
- Good people skills; self-motivated; computer-savvy and organized.
- Good knowledge of plant physiology and the ability to diagnose and remedy major pests, diseases, and tree disorders
- Minimum Class G driver’s license and clean abstract
- Organizational and time management skills
