Job Description

Are you an experienced climbing arborist that is wondering about their future in the industry?  Are you getting to a point where you are questioning if you can continue to climb every day?  Have you thought about consulting as an option? 

Maple Hill Tree Services is searching for a senior climbing arborist that is interested in transitioning to a consulting arborist.  You will spend a portion of your time in the field assisting with production and training our new generation of climbing arborists and spend a portion of your time assisting our Senior Consulting Arborist. 

Qualifications and skills should include formal arboriculture training and must have ISA Certification.  Applicant would be encouraged to complete the Tree Risk Assessment Qualification (TRAQ). Computer aptitude and software skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word and Excel), and AutoCAD is preferred but training is available. Good verbal and written communication skills and client management experience are essential.

We are seeking an experienced Climbing Arborist who has a passion for preserving and caring for trees and is looking for their next challenge in the tree industry.

The skills and responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:

  • The desire to continue skill development, advance education and maintain certifications and accreditations
  • Ability to install and inspect structural support systems
  • Learn, understand, and adhere to all safety rules and company safety policies
  • Applied knowledge and understanding of standard industry practices
  • Excellent sales and communication skills and customer service follow-through
  • Good people skills; self-motivated; computer-savvy and organized
  • Good knowledge of plant physiology and the ability to diagnose and remedy major pests, disease, and tree disorders
  • Organizational and time management skills

 Experience/Qualifications:

  • At least 5-10 years of climbing (MRS or SRS) and bucket operation experience in the tree care industry
  • Valid G driver's license (ARZ preferred) and clean abstract
  • Degree in Arboriculture
  • First-Aid training is an asset
