The ideal candidate will:
- Will have over 3 years of experience working with crews within the GTA
- Actively Engage with clients and provide on-site tree risk assessment, client consultation in a variety of conditions and environments, and articulate findings through verbal and written communication
- Effectively utilize Jobber (our field management software) to:
- Review new requests daily
- Respond to new requests within the time specified and confirm details of site visit with a client when necessary
- Conduct site visits and provide detailed quotes. Convert requests to quotes in Jobber
- Provide detailed quotes to clients within 24-48 hours after site visit
- Phone client to discuss job specifications where necessary
- Liaise with HTC management to plan job schedule
- Follow up with any “loose ends” associated with the job
- Effectively communicate work parameters of each job sold to all HTC members
- Answer follow-up inquiries on jobs sold
- Work within the budget of HTC always
- Always seek to lower costs, improve efficiency, and increase production
- Solicit for work prospects, when necessary
- Study and fully understand the City of Toronto and Mississauga Urban Tree By-laws as they relate to:
- Private Ownership
- Construction Purposes
- Ravine Authority
- City Tree Access
- Study and understand current location-specific tree species concerns and all it entails
Quoting Process and Client Communication
- Develop project opportunities based on the needs of the client and the capabilities of the business
- Take photos of jobs that need specific detailed direction so crew can see what needs to be done. In doing so, you can articulate your vision for the space in a more clear and illustrative manner to ensure information is not lost or overlooked.
- Detailed attention paid to all trees/ shrubs/hedges in or near the client’s space AND peripheral to the main task (i.e. pruning care of each individual shrub and hedge on property). Upsell where possible
- Create a new line item for each tree/shrub on the list and break down the price to fit overall quote when possible
- Make note of client budget limit or whether they opted for cheaper option, thereby bypassing the mitigation of all risk factors
- Ensure client is presented with and agrees to the client agreement checklist prior to commencement of work
- Personal presentation must be clean, tidy & professional with necessary PPE +mask
