Lead Plant Health Care Technician

Responsibilities:

The Plant Health Care Technician diagnoses and provides treatment to pests and diseases affecting trees. The PHC Technician is responsible for carrying out duties assigned by the Plant Health Care Supervisor in a safe and efficient manner, including but not limited to:

· Preparing the necessary equipment for the workday

· Ensuring work is conducted safely

· Mixing treatment applications

· Applying treatments via foliar spray applicators, soil injections, trunk injections, and others

· Assisting tree crews when required


Qualifications

· Completion of an Arboriculture diploma program and/or equivalent field experience

· ISA Certification or MTCU Qualification an asset

· G driver’s license with a clean abstract (DZ license an asset)

· Exterminator License for Landscape Pesticides is required

· Knowledgeable in tree and shrub identification

· Knowledgeable in pest and disease identification

· Experience as a plant health care technician an asset

· Excellent communication and problem-solving skills

· Able to provide direction to team members, including development and empowerment


Pay / Benefits

· Rate of pay will vary with experience and skills

Salary: $22.00-$32.00 per hour
