We are searching for a lead-climber/professional arborist to add to our team. While I will be on-site supervising jobs we are looking for a team leader. We are willing to train and develop specific trade skills however basic climbing/cutting/rigging skills are mandatory. The suitable applicant will be climbing every day, making precise cuts (pies large and small, split cuts, spear cuts, hinge cuts, etc.), communicating with groundsman, rigging limbs (knowledge of knots are an asset), felling trees with mechanical assistance, and leading clean-up from the ground.
This position will begin within the month of June, and our season closes Nov. 31st (40+ hour work weeks from now until Oct. 31st, and slows down into November due to weather restrictions). We are based out of Parry Sound and service approximately an hour's radius in any direction. We have all of the tools required for safe practice of the trade (climbing gear, ropes, saws, PPE, accessories/pulleys/friction systems, etc.). Transportation can be provided however a full G driver with a vehicle is preferred. If the applicant does not live locally, we are able to provide affordable living accommodations. Wages are flexible depending on skill level ($20-$35/h). Team leading skills are also a valuable asset and will be reciprocated. At least one year of trade experience is mandatory.
